Cairo International Conference Centre

Egyptian State Tourist Office

A land rich in diverse cultures, languages and history, Egypt still continues to maintain its reputation as the Middle East's most exciting destination.

The opening of the Cairo International Conference Centre (CICC) at the end of 1989 means that Egypt now has the world-class conference and exhibition facilities necessary to develop this sector of its travel industry. The new, conveniently located centre is built on over 30 hectares, of which 58,000 m2 have been given over to conference facilities. It can seat up to 4,000 people and has over 13,000 m2 of exhibition space, and is flanked with five-star hotels in the region, giving a capacity 5,000 guest rooms.

The Centre is a mere ten minute drive from Cairo International Airport, a short drive from any one of several five star hotels and a five minute walk from the Cairo Stadium and the Cairo International Exhibition Grounds.

In fact, the CICC is equipped with all the facilities you would expect from a state-of-the-art convention centre. To ensure that you are up to date - wherever you are and at all times - Closed Circuit Television Monitors linking you to every one of the five halls are discreetly placed along the walls. An electronic PABX Exchange with 1024 lines for local and international calls is also available.

There are fully equipped kitchens and cafeterias ensuring a gourmand's paradise.

Naturally, all this technology would not be of much use without a highly qualified, dedicated group of people to see to it that things run smoothly.

We realise that conferences of all types entail more than just meetings. To make sure that you complete your workload with as little fuss as possible, we have provided a quietly efficient and competent secretarial pool. The centre also has mobile interpretation units and three large rooms or boardrooms, each with a capacity of 50 people, for the smaller meetings or receptions or even just for a display area.

The centre's generators (7.5 megawatts) are perfectly capable of supporting a small city independently of any mainline power supplies.

The exquisite Chinese Garden amidst 28 lush acres of land is a wonderful outdoor diversion created to remove the stress of business and to relax.

A number of prestigious conventions have been held in recent years. These include the ICCA, the UFTAA, the Proctor and Gamble Egypt Seminars, American University in Cairo Graduation Ceremony, the Islamic Ministers of Foreign Affairs, the Arab Summit Meeting, the Arab Ministers of Transport, the 10th Conference of Petroleum for Discovery, the 18th Session of the International Statistical Institute, the Annual Mondial for Beauty, the Cairo Annual International Film Festival, ASTA, the 10th Congress of FEEAV and the American College for Surgeons.

Cheops Hall

The largest of the four halls, and featuring the very latest in functional congress technology, this one holds 2,500 people in plush comfort.

The stage has the added attraction of two circular daises, which rotate slowly in opposite directions. The centre dais may be raised 1.8 m and lowered 2.5 m. There are 30 fully-operational equipped backstage rooms, complete with sets, fire curtain, fire detection and sprinkler systems. The lighting system is three-way operational - computer programmed, manually operated or line operated.

Also available is a United Nations Voting board, enabling you to vote by nation. There are facilities for simultaneous interpretation in eight languages and a state-of-the-art public address system.

Skilled professional stage technicians ensure that the technical stage equipment is used to its full potential for any type of event: audiovisual presentations, large inaugural events, concerts, stage shows, operas and ballets. In fact, Egypt's largest stage fulfils the most modern stage requirements.

Chefren Hall

This hall contains almost all of the larger one's amenities but with only a third of its capacity.

Seating 800 people, the hall has facilities for simultaneous interpretation in six languages, as well as the voting facilities, a moveable stage and a public address system. It offers an optimum of technical facilities and space for a compact congress, science symposium, conference, product launch and other events.

The stage can serve as a large platform, or for smaller shows and presentations. Its versatility is in its pliable seating arrangements. It may be cordoned off to seat combinations of 400 with each hall used individually but still enabling each to carry voting facilities.

All other combinations also receive simultaneous interpretation.

Mycerinos Hall

The smallest of the halls, with a capacity of 600 seats, Mycerinos Hall provides a functional combination that can be systematically reduced in size to units of 100 with moveable partitions. This division in varied seating configuration makes them well suited for a variety of smaller conferences and events. Each of the divided halls continues to be equipped with simultaneous interpretation in six languages, a moveable stage and a PA system.

Flexibility and convenience have been designed into this hall for many possible usage options.

Nefertiti Hall

To enter this beautiful hall you pass by a stunning three-tiered fountain, overlooking the front garden at the centre, and we trust that you will find the inside just as lovely.

The hall seats 1,250 people in graceful comfort, or, if you wish, you may hold receptions for 3,000 with ease. The hall has its own orchestra balcony for live music, and the glass walls enable you to look out into the starry night.

The hall is serviced by the magnificent kitchen below, housing experienced chefs who will gladly provide you with any cuisine you care to name.

Exhibition Halls I & II

Regardless of what you wish to exhibit, the marble floors, the glass walls looking out on to the garden and the discreetly elegant chandeliers will make the Exhibition Halls at the CICC the perfect setting. Major emphasis has been placed on the details for exhibit set-up, from lighting to background set-ups.

Exhibition Hall I

This hall comprises 3,000 m2 of exhibition space that may be split off into sections of any desired size. The plush chairs are moveable, and you may have the setting redesigned at will.

Exhibition Hall II

This hall is adjoined to the main building of the centre with a tunnel and comprises 10,000 m2 of exhibition space. It can be divided into four sections cordoned off with moveable partitions. Two cafeterias serve this area. There is also a special entrance for the loading and the unloading of the exhibits to help facilitate these processes.

Additional rooms and services

The Press Centre, Hall I

The Press Centre in the CICC offers exemplary working conditions for the press, radio and TV. It has a seating capacity of 150 and is superbly equipped with Closed Circuit Television linking you to every hall in the centre.

Seminar rooms

There are four smaller rooms on the ground level, as well as the Press Centre, which can be used as smaller conference rooms or seminar rooms for 150 people.
